The school owns a fleet of minibuses that operate in Cardiff and the surrounding areas, even as far as Newport and Barry. Please visit our transport page for more information.

VAT & Fees

From 1st Jan 25 our school fees and closely related charges will be separated, and VAT will be charged on school fees.

We do hold scholarship exams on the last weekend of every January.
Students are only eligible to apply for scholarships at the end of each Key Stage. This means that the year groups eligible to sit the scholarship exams are Year 2, 6, 9 and 11. If successful, Scholarships are then awarded at the beginning of the next Key Stage and last for the duration of that Key Stage.

School starts at 8:30am every morning, however we do run a breakfast club from 8:00am. The last lesson end at 3:30pm which is also when the buses leave site.

We hold sport and fitness as one of its core values and utilises the best sporting facilities in Cardiff for our students to experience a wide range of activities. We partner with several institutions such as Cardiff university, Cardiff metropolitan university, J1 studios, Cardiff Bay Yacht Club and Boulders Cardiff. We place the value of our student’s mental health and wellbeing at the very centre of our schools’ values. We have a wellbeing team made up of staff with extensive knowledge and experience of how to support students through their learning journey. We understand that pupils can experience stress and anxiety for many different reasons and that every individual’s wellbeing needs can change over time. Over the past year, Kings Monkton School has arranged several exciting, inspirational, and educational trips for our students. They have travelled to Cardiff Castle, Bristol Museum, Winter Wonderland. Over the summer break pupils went to Kenya, and more recently pupils went on our annual Ski Trip in January.
